Bond Adapt Technical FAQ’s UPDATED Aug 2012

1. What database does Adapt run off – and why?

Adapt is fully database independent.
However, our two certified solutions consist of the SQL Server and Oracle families – and feature at the heart of our testing programme.

2. Is Adapt web based?

Yes, both the main user portal and systems administration tool are accessed via the web. Our feature rich configuration toolset is accessed via dedicated JAVA GUI’s all of which operate over a TCP/IP stack.

3. Is Adapt easy to set up?

Yes!

We have a comprehensive set of installation instructions for those clients wishing to set the solution up independently.

4. How configurable is Adapt?

We have tools that allow for changes to be made to the underlying database schema, screens, menus, searches and workflow. We can even totally modify the application look and feel based on user profile, thus accommodating the global and diverse needs of the multilingual user.

So in our view, Adapt is the most truly configurable application you will find on the market in this sector.

5. How good is the CV parsing in Adapt?

We have our own parsing engine, which is highly effective for traditional fixed format style CVs.

The rules engine used by the parser can be configured to accommodate the majority of formats that you may find. For the non-fixed format style, (typically those you would find from speculative candidates or CV harvesters), we build on our integrations with our best of breed partners in this sector.

We have integrations with both Daxtra and Burning Glass which have proven to be highly effective, and accurate, in the CV parsing arena.

6. Can I run Adapt off my current IT infrastructure set up?

Adapt utilises a mix of J2EE and .Net based technologies:  We require the use of a database and application server tier, (which can happily co-exist on the same physical devices if required).

Depending on the user counts and degree of resilience required, we can install on single physical boxes, (or logical VMs), right through to load balanced application and database server tiers.

We typically use JBoss for the application server tier, due to its very low cost of implementation and small footprint requirements.

As far as base O/S is concerned, we can operate over Wintel, Linux and AIX based environments.

7. Am I still supported if I don’t take an upgrade?

Yes.
 We have a proactive account management team who will keep you updated on our software update program: Through joint discussion, we help plan your future upgrade path, ensuring that your business needs are consistently met.
 At all stages of the process, you remain supported both from a helpdesk and software maintenance/enhancement perspective.

8. What platform/Technology is used to run Adapt?

 .net
 java
 SQL
 Oracle  - and so on...

Since the main Adapt recruiter portal is J2EE based, we are able to run on most hardware and O/S platforms.
We currently support SQL Server 2005/8 as well as Oracle 10/11g. Should you require other database choices we would be very happy to talk with you.

Due to the extensible and modular nature of our technology, it is an easy process to support alternative databases. Our key customer portals make use of the .Net framework and happily co-exist with the main recruiter applications.
